Ranvet

Ranvet is an acknowledged leader in equine nutrition, feed supplements, vitamins, minerals and veterinary medications. A reputation earned over the past forty years as it has continued to research, develop and market, world wide, a broad range of vitamin and mineral supplements and medications for horses and dogs, particularly greyhounds.

Ranvet's founder and principal technical adviser Dr. Percy Sykes, AM, M.R.C.V.S., M.A.C.V.Sc , a highly respected veterinary surgeon and world authority on the high performance horse, worked with high profile trainers who also appreciated that race horses are trained in an unnatural environment producing continual physical and mental stress. Working in close liaison with such legendary trainers as the late Tommy Smith and Melbourne Cup King, Bart Cummings, Dr Sykes has identified the specific needs of the high performance race horse.

The product and technical information included on our website is the result of research in respect of high performance and high value horses and dogs. The needs of athletic animals engaged in recreational pursuits are similar and accordingly the majority of Ranvet's products are ideally suited for use with all active animals. In addition to feed supplement and medication, Ranvet also market a range of specialty veterinary pharmaceuticals, which includes equine stomach ulcer treatment and a range of anabolic steroids.

Since 1960 the Company has continued to research the science of horse training and has designed, tested, refined and then marketed products to satisfy the most specific needs of the performance horse. After more than 40 years producing product for the equine athlete, Ranvet has now formulated a range of products for the greyhound racing industry.

Pfizer Australia - Animal Health

Around the world, animals play an important role in our lives. Here in Australia, many of us regard our companion animals such as dogs and cats as family members. It’s not surprising that we want safe and effective medical treatments when our animals suffer from illness. Pfizer Animal Health is proud to have discovered and developed some of the leading vaccines and prescription medicines that can make pets live longer and healthier lives.

For farm animals such as cattle, sheep and pigs, Pfizer Animal Health offers the broadest line of products in the world to improve their health and quality of life. We are also pleased to provide outstanding technical support and service throughout Australia to help livestock producers - and their veterinarians - to improve the quality and productivity of their livestock by taking full advantage of Pfizer Animal Health products.

Because our goal is to do more than any other company to further animal health, we are the worldwide leaders in animal health research. To help us find new medicines for animals, hundreds of Pfizer Animal Health researchers in veterinary medicine leverage the work of thousands of Pfizer scientists searching for new medications for people. In the years ahead, Pfizer Animal Health is confident of delivering innovative new vaccines and medicines that will either improve on current medications or address significant unmet medical needs of both companion and farm animals.

Hoofbeats

Hoofbeats is a lifestyle magazine for anyone with an interest in horses - with articles on riding, training, horse care and small property management.

Hoofbeats was founded in June 1978 by Robert and Sandy Hannan, David Nangle and Steve Rooke. As the magazine grew and began to take up more of our time, David and Steve returned to their ‘real’ jobs. Robert’s photography took him overseas for 6 months of each year, which left me (Sandy) to man the position as editor.

Hoofbeats originally shared Robs photographic studio in the city but in 1990 we built a log cabin office on our 20 acre property and moved the office to the much more practical location of this semi rural area.

We believe that the success of Hoofbeats can be attributed to the fact that we are all involved with horses (or have been) and we thoroughly enjoy what we are doing, which we have been told is reflected within the pages of the magazine.
